Chinese Democracy Tour Extended
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: GN'R & Sebastian Bach embark on their 4 month-long tour.
Topic: Hair Metal

LOS ANGELES -- Hot on the heels of their sell out shows last week in Las Vegas, San Francisco and KROQ's Inland Invasion in Los Angeles, Guns N' Roses announce the first leg of their "Chinese Democracy" North American Tour.

The tour, which will kick off on the 20th of October in Jacksonville, Florida, finds the band in top form having spent the summer in Europe playing to 700,000 plus people over 32 shows in 18 countries, making it one of the biggest tours of the year on the continent and in the UK. Concert goers were not let down as Axl Rose and his band mates Dizzy Reed, Robin Finck, Richard Fortus, Tommy Stinson, Chris Pitman, Brain and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal burned through classics such as "Welcome to the Jungle," "Paradise City," "Nightrain," "Mr. Brownstone," "November Rain" and "Sweet Child O' Mine" as well as highlighting soon to be favourites from the forthcoming "Chinese Democracy" album.

Just this week, the Hollywood Reporter's concert review of KROQ's Inland Invasion observed, "when headliner Guns N' Roses took the stage everything old became new again -- and everything new on the bill, just couldn't hold a candle in comparison ... the night belonged to Guns N' Roses!"

Axl Rose commented, "We had an amazing tour in Europe this summer and last week's shows here in the US were great. It's been a long time getting here but we look forward to coming to your town and having a lot of fun."

Sebastian Bach who has been guesting with Guns N' Roses on "My Michelle" will open the entire tour with the Special Guest slot going to a number of great bands starting with Papa Roach for the dates through the 3rd of November. The shows have been planned to cater to a Guns N' Roses rock n' roll party atmosphere with Sebastian hitting the stage every night at 8 pm followed by the Special Guest at 9 pm and Guns N' Roses shortly after 10 pm and lots of great music in between.

Guns N' Roses are also delighted to announce that they have partnered with Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLB.COM) to provide their fans with premium ticketing opportunities and up to the minute information on the tour and the band's other activities via gunsnroses.com which will be launched as of tomorrow.

As for Guns N' Roses forthcoming "Chinese Democracy" album the only comment at this time is that there are 13 Tuesdays left between now and the end of the year.

The itinerary for the "Chinese Democracy" North American Tour is as follows. Tickets for most dates go on sale on the 30th of September with up to the minute information and pre-sales available now at gunsnroses.com.

Special Announcement from Great White's Booking Agent

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL BUYERS/PROMOTERS/VENUE OWNERS

It has come to our attention that there are some unscrupulous individuals selling Great White shows who have no connection to Great White. They book the show, collect the deposit money and skip town, shutting down communication lines with the club and basically disappearing. For the record Great White has no association with David Wilson, Bill Cantor, Michael Robynsen, Bobby Jenks Management or John Byrnes Management. Furthermore, Great White's agent is NOT located in Chicago or New York.

Anyone interested in inquiring about a booking for Great White should contact Great White's exclusive Los Angeles based booking agent Sullivan Bigg with Bigg Time Entertainment, Inc.

The Original L.A. Guns & Guns n' Bullets Tour Announced
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: A ton of club dates have been announced for the L.A. Guns and Bulletboys joint tour this year.
Topic: Hair Metal

L.A. Guns Founding Members Reunite For 20th Anniversary Tour And Album!!!

Twenty years after their break up, the founding members of rock band L.A. Guns make a bold return to the stage to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band they started together in the mid 1980s.

Leader Tracii Guns initiated the long awaited reunion of the original members. Its been great jamming with the guys I started this journey with 20 years ago, says Guns of lead vocalist Paul Black and drummer Nickey Alexander. All the classics sound better than ever and well be performing them all as well as some surprises at these special shows!

Paul Black co-wrote the bands fan favorites from the first two records along with Tracii Guns, but left the band just as their deal was signed. Nickey Alexander played all the drum tracks on the classic self-titled record. The band released a CD called Black List earlier this year, which is a collection of previously unreleased recordings of L.A. Guns standards recorded by the original line up between 1985 and 1987. Black List is the only record available by the real L.A. Guns states Black. It was difficult to get out too. Our former label and management buried these original recordings and hid them a long time ago. In fact theyre still locked up in the vaults at Universal Records. That didnt stop Black List from being released though. Paul and Tracii assembled the record from the best versions of the songs they had saved on cassette tapes. Although its only out in limited supply, its being reviewed as the best L.A. Guns record to come out since the debut.

Why did the band break up? Polygram Records and our management had a problem with our singer Paul Black says Tracii. At that time he lived a reckless rock n roll lifestyle and they were afraid of him. Paul was an amazing front man, singer and a great songwriting partner but Polygram told us they needed to replace him or we would be dropped from the label. The band was never the same. Nickey left because we replaced Paul. Our label tore apart the band I loved. Ive been looking to find that same magical chemistry ever since and was never able to achieve that againuntil now.

Were writing together again too says Tracii. Its really exciting cause this is the line up that wrote the most successful songs. Were reclaiming our band and were gonna restore some respect to the name that has been continuously dragged through this mud by our replacements for the last few years.

Weve picked up where we left off and were finally gonna make the record our label wouldnt let us make twenty years ago Black explains. Weve got some great new material plus were gonna give fans some lost classics which made the band popular to begin with. There are so many songs we wrote which never made it to tape cause it was so expensive to record back then. I never forgot em though and were gonna bring em back.

A chip off the rock block, Jeremy Guns (bass) has been adopted into the band family as one of their own. This Gun is loaded with enthusiasm, inspiring Black to dub him the new engine. Upon announcing this project, Tracii, Paul, Nickey and Jeremy were immediately booked to play several special event shows. At the end of October they will be headlining a U.S. Guns & Bullets tour with The Bullet Boys. This weekend you can see the original L.A. Guns in their hometown of Los Angeles for the first time together in twenty years. Saturday September 16th they will appear at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana and audiences can catch them Sunday September 17th at The Key Club in Hollywood.

After two decades, L.A. Guns has undeniably come full circle. Its a return to their roots with a new twist. True to its original form, founding members promise the excitement of the music from their 80s heyday with an added element for an updated sound. Featuring original lead vocalist Paul Black, guitarist Tracii Guns, drummer Nickey Alexander and Jeremy Guns on bass, the band is back and better than ever.

Get ready to Rock N Roll!

Poison Members Fight On-Stage
Mood:  irritated
Now Playing: With the end of their tour less than a week away, Poison members Bret and Bobby fight it out at an Atlanta show.
Topic: Hair Metal
Atlanta's still burning...it was striking hot on stage the other night when Poison's show ended in a volatile fight...on stage.

Bassist Bobby Dall and singer Bret Michaels went at each other last Friday night (August 25) right before the encore, with Bret throwing his mic at Bobby, and Bobby retaliating by slamming his bass into Bret, injuring Bret's knee.

This is not the first physical incident between the band members. There have been many over the years, but this is the first onstage since the famous fistfight between Bret and C.C. at the MTV Video Awards in 1991, but that took place after the performance, not during.

Even though Poison's current release, The Best Of Poison: 20 Years Of Rock, has been on Billboard's Top 200 chart for more than 20 weeks (and is going full steam ahead to be certifield gold), and the concerts have attracted huge crowds all across the country, is this the end of Poison? Will the band break up after 20 years? Right now, it's day to day, as their intense summer tour is scheduled to end September 2.

L.A. GUNS NEW RELEASE LOUD & DANGEROUS: Live From Hollywood
ON SHRAPNEL RECORDS - IN STORES SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2006

HOLLYWOOD ( August 28, 2006) - Shrapnel Records is proud to release "Loud And Dangerous", L.A. Guns live album, to the world on September 12th, 2006. "Loud And Dangerous" is a reference to the band's notoriously raucous live concert performances from which they gained a worldwide audience. This record contains not only some of the band's biggest hits, but is also the first release of live versions of the band's best newer material. As a bonus, the Cd includes exclusive live video performances of Hollywood's Burning and It Don't Mean Nothing.

L.A. Guns emerged on the scene as an L.A. super group in the late 80's and struck gold with a series of albums that appealed to metal fans but were heavily steeped in the time honored tradition of hard rock and roll.

Vocalist Phil Lewis has long been one of rock's greatest front-men, possessing a distinctive voice that at times reveals his British heritage. Having much more in common with groups such as the Stones, AC/DC, and the New York Dolls than most bands from the metal scene, L.A. Guns are one of the few bands from this era who have maintained both a healthy fan base and an active international touring schedule.

TRACKLISTING:
1. NO MERCY
2. SEX ACTION
3. NEVER ENOUGH
4. NOTHING BETTER TO DO
5. HELL RAISERS BALL
6. OVER THE EDGE
7. ROCK AND ROLL OUTLAW
8. NOTHING BETTER TO DO
9. HELLRAISERS BALL
10. ONE MORE REASON
11. ELECTRIC GYPSY
12. RIP AND TEAR
13. THE BALLAD OF JAYNE
14. DON'T LOOK AT ME THAT WAY

Skid Row To Release New Album
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: Skid Row will rlease their new studio album, "Revolutions Per Minute", later this year.
Topic: Hair Metal
SKID ROW have completed work on their new studio album Revolutions Per Minute, which is expected to be released by SPV later this year.

Skid Row - Revolutions Per Minute

According to a new press release, "The twelve new songs on Revolutions Per Minute see Skid Row pulling out all the stops. Rachel Bolan (bass), Scotti Hill (guitar) and Snake Sabo (guitar) play their guitars with a vengeance, firing off power chords by the second, turning their amps to the max and apparently knowing but one direction straight ahead! Whether on the hook-oriented opener, 'Disease'', the aggressive Another Dick In The System', the catchy 'White Trash' or the programmatic 'Shut Up Baby, I Love You' - their unadulterated vitality seems to practically jump at the listener. The two, six string magicians expertly throw the bait to vocalist Johnny Solinger, who skillfully elaborates on the theme, refining the material further.

Like his predecessor, Solinger pulls all the compositional strings, the material is constructed around him, he is at the epicenter of a soundquake that comes at the audience with full force. It is the power of a track named Strength that marks Skid Row in general and Revolutions Per Minute in particular. And it is the close attachment of the five band members to their home country that continues to shine through and that Skid Row express on their country rock number, 'You Lie'."

Twisted Sister Frontman Says "It's My Last Year"
Mood:  blue
Now Playing: Dee Snider: "I've given my notice. This is my last year."
Topic: Hair Metal
Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, spoke with Doug Podell of Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM, a couple of excerpts from the interview follow:

Discussing whether the rumors are true that Twisted Sister will disband soon:

Dee: "First of all, we haven't been doing any real cohesive touring since we've reunited; it's been all just odd dates here and there. But yeah, I've given my notice. This is my last year."

Q: It's been that bad, huh?

Dee: "No, I've gotta be clear about that. [Laughs] It's going great. That's one of the reasons I wanna stop — before it turns bad again. [Laughs] We get along great. We've been doing it for four years. I just don't wanna be one of those bands that just never leaves, you know. Everybody's gotta know when it's time. I'm doing so many other things. And so this is our final shows, yeah."

Talking about Twisted Sister's upcoming "final" album, "A Twisted Christmas," featuring metal versions of holiday classics, including "Deck the Halls" and "O Come All Ye Faithful":

"We've been in the studio… I don't know if you heard about this. It came to us that when it comes to Christmas, there's every kind of music Christmas records — there's jazz, there's barbershop quartet, there's classical, there's easy listening — but there's no old-school metal. And we have just finished recording 'A Twisted Christmas' — 10 traditional Christmas songs done '80s-metal style. I'm telling you — it works. It's unbelievable. It rocks...You know what? Years ago, back in the '80s, I was saying, 'Man, it would be great if all the bands got together and we each took a Christmas song and did it our own way.' So what J.J. [French, guitar] — knowing this is the last year for me — said, 'What do you think about doing a Christmas record?' And I said, 'You know what? That could just be insane enough to be successful.' So we went in and the stuff works, man. We've got an AC/DC-type version of 'Silver Bells', a Maiden version of… This is what we did: We approached it like, 'How would these bands do it?' A Maiden version of 'White Christmas,' Thin Lizzy, a Judas Priest 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.' It rocks. Me and Lita Ford did a duet, power ballad-style, on 'I'll Be Home On Christmas;' it came out incredible and the record's gonna be coming out in October [via Razor & Tie Records] — it'll be in stores."
